The People’s Democratic Party, PDP elected Council Chairman, Ogedegbe Augustine while Feilding questions from newsmen stated that he was so sure and optimistic that PDP was going to carry the day in Ethiope East.
According to him, “firstly the party put up a strong campaign committee to go round the 20 DSIEC Ward in Ethiope East. We did not take anything for granted neither did we leave any stone unturned. Secondly the party has made promises in the past and kept them, developmental projects every where in the local government and thirdly the party gave them a credible candidate. Now that they have come out enmass to vote, it is left for us to deliver our campaign promises.”
Speaking at his country home in Ufuoma, The Director General, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr Isaac Akpoveta described the local government elections as the most peaceful ever in a long time. “I am very glad that today’s election is going on smoothly, peacefully. Despite the heavy downpour there is massive turnout of voters and they are voting.I think the most peaceful ever for a long time now and the reason is very clear, the choice of the candidate for the Council Chairmanship in Ughelli North this time around was very splendid.
“Jaro Egbo is a young man with a lot of potentials. No wonder the APC candidate hours to the elections stepped down voluntarily because he knew he was contesting against a positive candidate. The reports I have been receiving is very  positive I can assure you that the eight local government Chairmanship position in Delta Central will be won Landslide by PDP also across Delta North and South. Our son is the governor it is only right for us to ensure that we support him one hundred percent.”
Addressing newsmen shortly after casting his vote, at Okpara, the former Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Pharm. Victor Ofobrukueta  lauded the Delta State Independent Electorial Commission DSIEC for conducting a very peaceful and credible elections.
In his words, “DSIEC has performed very fantastic, their officials were spot on, they came on time. When I got to my unit at about 9am,  they were already there waiting for voters that is to show that their organisation was very fantastic. The election was peaceful, the turnout of voters was massive and I can authoritatively tell you that this local government Ethiope East is PDP.
“We campaign aggressively in all of the Wards in the local government and what you are seeing right now is as a result of the vigorous campaigns the people are in love with PDP and the support is overwhelming in all the Wards that I monitored and we want to thank the people of Ethiope East for coming out enmass to vote for all of our candidates.”
Councillor Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,  Arigbodi Onoriode Wesley described the election as peaceful, ” he election has been really peaceful no violence or disruption recorded. DSIEC to the best of my knowledge arrived on time, materials well distributed, voting started without delays that means the officials were well trained.
“I have been in politics as far back 1999, did my permanent voters card here in Isiokolo in 2011 and has been coming back home to vote since then. I am only contesting to bring about development both economically, socially and other wise to make sure that the people can actually feel the government at the grass root. Coming back home all this while I always noticed that the economic and social level in this particular Ward has been below bar looking at all other communities around Eku, Kokori, Okpara and the others they are all well off.
“PDP actually campaign from house to house, unit to unit, Ward to Ward, local government to local government I participated in all of them and I am very sure that we will do a hundred percent worse case ninety nine percent.”
