A frontline aspirant vying for Delta State House of Assembly, Isoko North Constituency under the platform All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Enahoro Michael, recently visited the traditional ruler of Ozoro Kingdom, HRM Barr. Anthony Uvietoborie Ogbogbo, Ibuka I, to seek for his royal blessings on his ambition to vie for the position come 2023 general elections.
Addressing the monarch during the visit, Dr Enahoro said, he visited the Palace to inform His Majesty of his ambition to represent the good people of Isoko North Constituency in the State House of Assembly and also seek for his fatherly blessings as well as seek the support of the entire Ozoro Kingdom.
He said; “The yearnings of my people clamouring for effective representation, good governance and dividends of democracy, motivated me into the race. Among all the candidates in the race, I am the most qualified, because I have trained Legislators across the State and Nigeria in general. Also I have a Doctorate degree in Political Science and well abreast with the developmental needs bedeviling my constituents.
“As a legislator, what I need is just to be elected and I will partner with external agencies on how to attract development to our people.
“I have a document which I will be working with that contains all problems of each of the communities in Isoko North Local Government. Like in Ozoro here, I have mapped out a master drainage system that I will partner with World Bank to do it. In Owhelogbo, I’ll ensure that, the Nursing School that was approved to them come to reality. All I need is the mandate of my people to go and represent them, and solve the problems that are bedeviling each of these communities in my Constituency.
“My drive is to create difference in Governance. So that people will know that Governance is not all about buying of big cars and acquiring wealth. But meeting the challenges of the people.”
He further added that; “Politics has gone beyond party lines. It is high time, we look beyond party lines and vote for candidates that can deliver dividends of democracy to our people. So I’m appealing to you your Majesty to call our people to order so as to support my ambition.
While enumerating some of his antecedents in Isoko North Local Government and Ozoro kingdom to include; “construction of three classroom blocks in Enagbedhi community in Otibio- Owhe, and I have attracted other meaningful projects to some communities like Enagbedhi, Otie, Emevor, Ozoro, Otor-Owhe and others. I am therefore appealing to my constituents to look at my antecedents and vote for me.”
The monarch, Barr. Anthony Uvietoborie Ogbogbo, Ibuka 1, in his response prayed that, Dr. Enahoro Michael will achieve his ambition.
He expressed optimism that, if Dr. Enahoro Michael wins the election, Ozoro and the entire Isoko North would be better than its present status. Because Dr. Enahoro has earned himself a good name. He only needs your vote to complete some of the things he has started in Ozoro and the entire Isoko North Constituency.
“A brilliant child, if he is sent on errand. He will complete the errand. Let the good things you have done for Ozoro Kingdom, your Constituents and the less privileged in the society speak for you.”
Earlier on, while presenting Dr. Enahoro Michael to the Monarch, the APC Isoko North Local Government Chairman, Barr. Daniel Emebuno, said “I have thought about it deeply, to send Dr Enahoro Michael to represent Isoko North Constituency, in Delta State House of Assembly.
“Because he is humble, smart, brilliant and well abreast with the yearnings and developmental needs bedeviling the good of Ozoro Kingdom and the entire Isoko North Constituents. He always listen to all irrespective of who you are. So, we deemed it fit to send him to represent us in the State House of Assembly to bring development home to our people.”
