Bishop of The Light of the World Mission Church, Bishop Harrison Obiogho, has stated that for credible leaders to emerge, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), must conduct credible elections in 2023.
Obiogho who made this known during The Light of the World Mission Church annual convention, held at Eghwu/Okparabe Road, Eghwu Town in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, said the convention theme, ”With God, all things are possible”, will make the desire of Nigerians for credible leaders possible in 2023.
He noted that he was one of those that advocated for eligible voters to register for PVCs and still advocating for collection of PVCs, saying that he expected all his members to vote credible leaders in 2023.
According to him, “I will not compel them to vote against their conscience, but will allow them to vote their conscience. Because when we compelled them to vote for some persons in the past, the result was not positive. Let them vote their conscience for God to give us good leaders.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission on its part have much to do because the system of the country is giving us fear that their votes may not count. So, INEC should assure us that when you vote, your votes will count, and if it happens this time, more people will be willing to cast their votes in subsequent elections.
“So, I advise INEC to be sincere with their job; then, even politicians will know that their money cannot bring them back, except their performances. The security agencies should also be sincere just as INEC, they should not be bought over,” he added.
The revered servant of God advised Nigerians as they approach the 2023 elections that they had no other country than Nigeria, saying “even if they run to abroad, they will return. So, I want all of us to have a positive mind, and vote for credible leaders. I believe this country will change; a better Nigeria is coming.”
