Trying to alleviate the sudden tense poverty in the nation, Comrade Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay has empowered men, women and youths drawn from the 13 Wards in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State with cash gifts.
Comrade Ovuzorie Macaulay who hosted the beneficiaries in his country home in Owhe Ologbo on Thursday said that the cash gift of 25,000 per person was to support their businesses
The beneficiaries totaling 870 were selected from Isoko North Local Government Wards – IYEDE I, IYEDE II, ELLU/ARADHE/OVRODE, OFAGBE, ILUELOGBO, OWHE/AKIEHWE, EMEVOR, OKPE ISOKO, OZORO I, OZORO II, OZORO III, OYEDE and OTIBIO
According to the Okiroro of Isoko Nation, “Today’s gathering is not for long speeches because you all have offices, business centres and farms to get back to. What I want you to take home from this meeting Is that this empowerment cannot solve all your financial needs but it will go a long way to improve your standard of living if invested and managed judiciously.
“The journey for the emancipation of Isoko nation from people who want You to serve them and their political children will end in victory soon. I urge you all to stand firm and queue behind me so that at the end. We all can rejoice together.
“The vision is for the unity and development of Isoko Nation. I appreciate you for the political support till date. This is to motivate you to be committed more . Please note that the empowerment is continuous. My wife will soon roll out her own. So don’t worry it will get to those who are not beneficiaries today in no distant time.”
