NWC dissolved, Yobe Governor Appointed Chairman APC Caretaker Committee

Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved the National Working Committee of the party today at the emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee convened by Chief Victor Giadom, acting National Chairman of the party, to address inconsistency in leadership and litigations against one another.

The meeting which took place at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, with President Muhammadu Buhari, governors and leaders of the National Assembly in attendance appointed Governor, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State as Chairman Caretaker Committee.

Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant on New Media to the president disclosed this on his Twitter handle. In his tweet, he said “Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved.”

 

Meanwhile Governor Mai Mala Buni, of Yobe State, was appointed as Chairman Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Committee of the party with immediate effect.

 

Other members of the committee are ; Governor Gboyega  Isiaka Oyetola ,Senator Ken Nnamani, Stella Okotete, Governor Sani Bello, Dr. James Lalu, Senator  Abubakar Yusuf, Hon. Akinyemi Olaide, David lyon, Abba Ari, Prof. Tahir Mamman and  Ismail Ahmed  while Senator John James Akpanudoedehe will serve as  Secretary.

 

Also in attendance was the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan; Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Deputy Chairman, Lawal Shuaibu; Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase; the House majority leader, Hassan Dogowa; and the Deputy Chief Whip, House of Representatives, Nnenna Ukeje and Governors of Nasarawa, Niger, Jigawa, Yobe, Plateau, Kogi, Imo, Gombe, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Kwara, Ekiti, Kano, and Kebbi.
