The Omu Anioma and Nneoha, HRM Obi Martha Dunkwu has been joyful ever since the announcement of two amiable Anioma daughters, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu and Barr. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola as winners of the Delta State House of Assembly election in Oshimili South and Ika North East Constituencies respectively.
Omu Dunkwu in a statement, said, these are proud daughters of Anioma Nation making Anioma proud by their struggle to represent women in the state Parliament.
She affirmed that she was particularly happy that women from Anioma were able to form part of the Legislature for the next dispensation, adding that she so much regards the two illustrious daughters, Anyafulu and Okowa-Daramola because of the visibility they are bringing into lawmaking with regards to the issues of women and girl children.
The globally recognised mother of Anioma Nation, advised them to distinguish themselves and not allow the male counterparts to intimidate them.
She prayed for them, asking God and the Ancestral Spirit of Anioma to guide, protect and endow them with needed wisdom to represent their Constituencies in a manner that will earn them more tenures in the House and beyond.
The Oshimili South Constituency Member-Elect, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, a Human Development Expert was the immediate past Commissioner for Humanitarian and Social Development Servicces.
She is a guru in human rights activities and gender based issues, with wide exposure on a global scale.
For the Ika North East Constituency Member-Elect, Barr Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, a former staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, she distinguished herself while serving as SSA to the Governor on Girl-Child, where many young and futuristic girls were lifted out of poverty through her various empowerment programmes.
