Former Delta Secretary to State Government, Comrade Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay has said that, Isoko Democratic Movement, (IDM) was formed to liberate Isoko Nation politically from the hands of those who has plunged Isoko Nation into backwardness.
Comrade Macaulay stated this today when the IDM/PDP 3/5 rally stormed Oyede and Okpe-Isoko Wards respectively in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, in continuation of the IDM Ward-to-Ward rally.
He said that, “Isoko Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat has been domiciled in Isoko North Local Government for the past 20years and needs rotated to Isoko South Local Government Area for equity, fairness and justice.
“The current Leadership of PDP in Isoko North at the local government level has failed to adhere to the principle of equity, fairness, justice and rotation of the Isoko Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat to move to Isoko South Local Government, hence we are campaigning to correct the abnormality.
“As we all know, Isoko North and South Local Governments were created administratively, but Isoko North Local Government has held the House of Representatives seat for 20 years and this has created imbalance in the political system if we support another Isoko North Local Government candidate for the seat again.
“It is natural and just to support an Isoko South candidate, hence we are mobilising support for Hon Dickson Fineboy Ebegbare for the House of Representatives seat, so that Isoko North Local Government can be hopeful of getting the position after the tenure of Fineboy by God grace.
“We are members of PDP and we will vote for the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his Vice Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta PDP Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Delta South Senatorial candidate, Evang. Michael Diden popularly known as Ejele, SDP candidate for House of Representatives, Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon Dickson Fineboy Ebegbare and SDP candidate for Delta State House of Assembly for Isoko North Constituency, Hon David Okumagba Onajega.”
In his address, the Isoko Federal Constituency House of Representatives candidate under SDP, Hon Dickson Fineboy Ebegbare, promised to attract Federal government projects to Isoko Nation and restore electricity across the various communities in Isoko nation.
While the Delta State House of Assembly, Isoko North Constituency SDP candidate, Hon David Okumagba Onajega, promised to attract meaningful development to Isoko North constituency that will compliment that of the House of Representatives candidate if given the mandate.
