Ahead of the March 6 local government elections in Delta, Isoko North Local Government Area chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a Campaign Council with a mandate to deliver all candidates of the party in the elections.
Inaugurating the Council at the party’s secretariat in Ozoro, on Monday, Chairman of PDP in the area, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, urged all members to support the team to achieve result for the party.
He charged the Council to work together to deliver all candidates of the party at the polls.
Inaugurating the Council, Vice Chairman PDP Delta South, Chief Julius Takeme urged the Campaign Council to work towards the success of the party in the coming Council polls.
Takeme said, “with the powers vested on me as Chairman of the party in Delta South Senatorial District, I inaugurate this campaign council and call on the members to ensure that all our candidates are successful at the polls.
“You have been given important assignment as Campaign Council members and Ward Coordinators. This is in recognition of your outstanding contributions to the party.
“I urge you to campaign to the nooks and crannies of your Ward to ensure victory for all our candidates,” he said.
Those inaugurated were Special Adviser to the Governor on Community and Rural Development, Rt Hon. Emmanuel Okoro as Chairman and Director-General while Mr Jonathan Umukoro will serve as Secretary.
Responding, Okoro thanked God for the opportunity to serve, and assured that the council would do everything possible to deliver all the party’s candidates.
“Let me thank God almighty for being chosen to lead this great men and women of our party to deliver all our candidates come March 6, 2021.
“Let me assure you that by the grace of God, we will do everything possible to ensure victory for our chairmanship candidate Christian Iteire and the 20 councillorship candidates of our great party,” Okoro stated.
In his remark, Chairmanship candidate of the party in the area, Mr Christian Iteire, thanked the party for the choice of the party candidates and called for the support of all stakeholders to ensure victory for the party.
He assured that with the quality and credentials of people selected for the campaign Council, the party was on the right track to victory.
The exercise which also recorded the inauguration of campaign committees and presentation of party flags for the 20 councillorship candidates in the LGA was attended by top politicians from the area, including Commissioner for Transport Hon. Ovie Oghoore; DESOPADEC Commissioner Dr Paul Oweh; Dr Patrick Akporuno; Dr Nelson Ejakpovi; Hon. Mike Ogwah among others.
