Love Afodus Standard School Emerge  Winner of Mulade Quiz, Essay Competition in Delta

Love Afodus Standard School in Igbide, Isoko South Local government Area of Delta State has emerged winners of the 6th Edition of Comrade Sheriff Mulade Quiz & Essay competition organised for secondary schools in Delta South Senatorial district.
The competition which had 14 Schools as Participants was held recently at Federal Government College Warri, the competition was sponsored by the Centre for Peace & Environmental Justice, CEPEJ.
In his welcome address, National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, Chief Comr. Sheriff Mulade, said “This annual competition is aimed at bridging the gap between schools in riverine areas and their urban counterpart.”
“We are using this opportunity to promote and sustain the existing peace among the ethnic groups within the region by promoting the love that exist amongst the Ijaw’s, Itsekiri’s, Urhobo’s and Isoko’s.”
The NGO, also appealed to the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governors in the South-South Region and Nigerians to pay more attention to the improvement of the education sector by promoting quality and standard education in Rural and Riverine areas.
The initiator of the competition, Mulade Sheriff on behalf of CEPEJ, presented various cash prizes to Participants as Ewoma Godstime and Elohorn Francis of Love Afodus Standard School, Igbide clinched the first position and smiled home with the cash price.
Scholarship was also offered to Young Efiri Trustgod of Gbesa grammar School Ojobo, Burutu Local Government Area for clinching the second position. Omaghomi Emmanuel and Eke Precious of Iwere College Koko Warri North Local Government Area took third position.
In a related development, the Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu who was representated by the chief inspector of education, Warri South Local government Area, Prince Alekwe Theophilus, commended Mulade and members of CEPEJ. He stated that; “The competition has helped to foster unity, peaceful coexistence and demonstrated that even if you have little you can contribute to education, i admonish students who are privileged to participate in this competition to use this opportunity to study hard” he said
The CIE of Warri South-West, Mrs. Omagbemi, Mercy said, “We Commend and encourage Chief Comrade Sheriff Mulade to keep it up. What he is doing shows that Education is a reality, not a scam, when they started, it was within Local government Areas around coastal communities, now it has extended to the entire Delta South Senatorial district”
A student of Hussey Modern College; Nwachukwu Emmanuel and a student of OgbeIjoh Grammar School, Eyefa Jerusalem Commended Sheriff Mulade stating that their lives has been impacted positively by this initiative
Schools that participated in the quiz competitions includes; Akugbene Grammar School, Burutu; Love Afodu Standard School, Isoko South; Gbesa Grammar School, Ojobo, Burutu; Iwere College, Koko, Warri North; Government Model Secondary School, Patani; Erejuwa II Grammar School, Ode-Itsekiri, Warri South; Evans International School, Isoko North; and Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School, Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
