The Nigeria Youths Democratic Party, NYDP, says it has approached the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with a reminder letter of its registration as a political party seeking participation in the November 2 Anambra state governorship and the 2023 general elections.
NYDP, in a statement by its1st National Chairman Barry Avotu Johnson, said “the Nigeria Youth Democratic Party have approached the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with a reminder letter of their Registration as a Political Party seeking Participation in the November 2nd Anambra state governorship and the 2023 general elections as the Electoral Act provides under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The statement read in parts “INEC must do her part in ensuring that every political group in Nigeria enjoy equal rights as we approach the beginning of the 2023 electioneering activities which have been tagged as the process that will produce quality leadership and responsive path channeled towards a new and greater Nigeria.
“We also call on the over 150 million youths supporters across Nigeria and beyond to stand with the NYDP in readiness to taking over power come 2023 so that our youths and women can be gainfully employed and empowered to chart a future for the nation.
“It is time for the youths to resist any attempt by disgruntled elements of disunity to separate us from holding strong as a family to dismantle the chain of corrupt leaders in Nigeria who have continued to plunder and squander the resources of Nigeria pretending to be a friend and promoter of national development.
“We must all come together as a team to build Nigeria into a nation that we all would be proud of tomorrow. No youth should allow him or herself to be used by any Political persons to cause trouble around the nation because some people are beating the drums of war when there is no need to do so.
“Nigeria needs her people to always seat down to discuss national issues and chart a way forward for the good of all whether you are from the north, south, east or west so that we all can be in the same page at all times.
,
“Our nation needs to be recovered from the hands of territorial democratic terrorist who seat in their homes and continue to script wrong movies as political movement that can’t be of any benefit to the people.
“Finally we call on the Buhari administration to continue to hold talks with security experts in finding better ways to resolving the issues of insecurity in Nigeria. We are tired of hearing about killings and kidnappings in our land and it is not acceptable at all because it’s not a tradition in Nigeria. This is a new trend and it must stop so that we can be free in our own country.
“President Buhari must see the need for this government to engage the United Nations in the areas of military support to help fight terrorism in the North East and West of Nigeria. Let the Presidency and Military stop deceiving the people about been in total control of the situation.
The statement added: “Nigeria needs the full support of the United Nations military forces to help us address Boko Haram and Banditry since we have been on the matter for years without any solutions. Buhari’s administration has not been able to tackle the insurgency since it came into power in 2015 and we cannot continue to allow anyone to politicalize the issue of securing the lives and property of Nigerians. The insurgence has continued to kill Nigerians and it is not the best for our people.
“Government has not done well in the area of security at all and we should put it at the front burner as a national issue that require very urgent consideration so therefore we ask President Buhari to invite United Nations to wade into action to save Nigeria at this time of our National history.
“We pray that our nation will undergo true democratic change come 2023 as we move forward with the activities that will lead to such a change with the participation of NYDP which has longed been awaited.
“INEC must obey the rules of the game to avoid distrust in terms of the 2023 general elections results. NYDP remains the only political force designed as a national reformation tool that will crest legitimacy to the end results of the forthcoming general elections whether anybody likes it or not so therefore *INEC Must do the needful by registering NYDP as a Participating Political Party in Nigeria at this time in history.”
