Four Setraco road construction workers have been abducted at site by gunmen in Torugbene, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state.
Confirming the incident that happened Wednesday afternoon via telephone call, Mr. Afuruku Robert, The Public Relations officer of the Company said “the hoodlums attacked the site in Torugbene community around 1:35pm in the afternoon and four workers were abducted at gun point.
“They sporadically shot into the air for a while before driving away with their victims in a waiting speedboat to an unknown destination”.
He stated that insecurity in Delta waterways has been on the increase as kidnapping is now perpetuated on a daily basis. He noted that only last week, the medical director of Torugbene general hospital was abducted and released after paying an undisclosed amount of ransom to his abductors.
