The African Democratic Congress, ADC Presidential candidate and founder of the Roots TV, Mr. Dumebi Kachikwu has described the current security challenges in Nigeria as evidence of a failed state.

He made the statement during a meeting of ADC stakeholders in Abuja which was monitored live on Channels Television on Tuesday 12th July, 2022.

The Presidential candidate said it was a shame of a country to experience a situation where a terrorist group could muster the temerity and courage to attack a Presidential advanced team convoy enroute Daura in Katsina State, while members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) also attacked the Kuje custodial centre in Abuja same day.

Mr. Kachikwu said it was obvious that the President has nothing more to offer Nigerians, even as he vehemently condemned the nonchalant attitude of the President and his appointees to the situation at hand.

He affirmed that in saner climes, many of the government functionaries would have been resigning for failing the nation in such a magnitude.

However, Kachikwu averred that government had remained indifferent to the sufferings of the citizenry in all ramifications, most particularly pathetic, the ASUU strike that has kept the University students at home for over five months.

The ADC flagbearer therefore, commended his party men, women and youths for their dedication and commitment to make sacrifice on a public holiday to gather to discuss issues of national concerns that have got every Nigerian citizen apprehensive.
