Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta state, Olorogun Vincent Sito has condemned in its entirety, the call by some sponsored lawyers in Lagos, seeking the disqualification of ministerial nominee, Hon. Stella Okotete by the National Assembly.

It could be recalled that some lawyers from Juryman Associate Chambers; Oladotun Hassan, Esq, Principal Partner/Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Epe Branch/ Executive Director, Lawyers For Justice Reform, and Barr. Myso Nejo and others have written to the tenth Senate demanding the immediate disqualification of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominee and former Executive Director of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Mrs. Stella Erhuvwuoghene Okotete as minister.

Olorogun Sito who made this known in Abuja while addressing journalists on the issue, stated that there is no section of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria that states that a nominee should be disqualified because of a pending court case.

“These are lawyers who claimed to have taken the ministerial nominee to court wants to be prosecutors and judges at same time. I wonder how people who know the law, are the breakers of the law.

“it is only when judgement has been delivered against that such petition can subsist. So the petition written by the lawyers was the handiwork of detractors and political enemies who don’t want to see anything good in our lioness”, he added.

While calling on the Senate to ignore the frivolous petition, Sito called on those behind the lawyers to shield their swords and allow peace to reign.
