The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ughelli Correspondents Chapel, has congratulated the Senior Correspondent of the Vanguard Newspapers and National Ex-Officio of NUJ, Comrade Festus Ahon on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, NUJ, Ughelli Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Sunday Apah, said that the appointment is well deserved.
The statement continues, “We, the members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ughelli Correspondents Chapel, wishes to congratulate our Pioneer Chairman, Comrade Festus Ahon on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
“His appointment is well deserved, considering the fact that he is a tested journalist with track records of professional performance on his job.
“The chapel has no doubt but with explicit confidence that the appointee will bring his enormous wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment, and contribute handsomely to the actualisation of the ‘MORE AGENDA’ of the governor.
“The Chapel also use the opportunity to thank H.E Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State for appointing one of our own as his CPS.
“Comrade Ahon who until his appointment was the state Correspondent of the Vanguard Newspapers, and also National Ex- Officio of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.”
