According to him, the economic programme would be designed to improve the standard of living of the women and see to their self-reliance.
He stated that, “when you empower a woman, you have empowered a generation. Women are multipliers“
“The first thing a woman thinks of is the well-being of her children and herself. There is nothing given to women that don’t increase.
“I am aware most of you all here today, and indeed, our women in Isoko are into different trades. Thus, I’m promising you all when elected, I’ll support the trades of women in Isoko Federal Constituency.
“What else can I do if not to serve my people. I know the pains of my people. I know the challenges being faced by the people of Isoko Federal Constituency having stayed and lived with the people since I was born.
“I am going to the House of Representatives to positively touch the lives of the Isoko people. Let me say, once more, that my doors are always opened to all Isoko sons and daughters.”
The former Delta Energy Commissioner, Engr Ukodhiko enjoined the women to “Vote for who you can see, and easily relate with. Someone who is reliable as this election is very important; it is an election that will rework the country.
“I want to reassure you, that, by standing by me for this election you are standing for the empowerment of your husbands and children as my focus would be about the people of Isoko.
“Seeing the faces of you all here, I am convinced you all are standing for the Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP in the 2023 general elections.
“So, i must urge you all to stand for the PDP and vote for Atiku Abubakar for President, Sheriff Oborevwori for Governor, Michael Diden for Senate, Jonathan Ukodhiko for House of Representatives and, Ferguson Onwo, Bino Obowomano and Bernard Odior for the Delta State House of Assembly,” Ukodhiko added.
Earlier in her speech, Mrs Happy Esagbama, said that “the Oyede Political Ladies is an all female group under the Isoko Unity Group,“
She assured Engr Ukodhiko that, “we are behind you for the House of Representatives as we don’t have any other party in Oyede. Meaning all our votes are 5/5 in the election as we have done in previous elections. Be assured again, we are with you,” she stated.
