Delta Lawmaker Empowers Constituents With Pressure Pumps, Wrappers, Cash

The Councilor representing Agbarha ward 2, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Anita Okeoghene Okonoko has empowered sizeable numbers of constituents with pressure pumps for weed control, wrappers and cash worth hundreds of naira.



It would be recalled that Hon. Anita Okeoghene Okonoko sometimes last year, during the first phase of her empowerment programme, also built Cassava Processing Mill to farmers and members of the community.



Speaking during the second phase of her empowerment programme held at Omavovwe community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state, Hon. Anita Okonoko, said she decided to embarked on the empowerment programme to cushion the effect of the hunger brought to her constituents by the APC led federal government.



Okonoko added that the gesture was to give back to the people who gave her the mandate to serve as a legislator in the Ughelli North Local Government Area Legislative Arm.



She noted that the gesture also aimed at supporting Jimmy Idiovwa, PDP House of Assembly Candidate, Ughelli North Constituency I, Olorogun Solomon Ahwinahwi, PDP House of Representives candidate, Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency; Chief Ighoyota Amori PDP Senatorial Candidate, Delta Central District; Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta State Governorship Candidate and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, PDP Presidential Candidate and his running mate, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.



A beneficiary, Mr. Felix Erabor, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker, saying he hasn’t seen such magnitude of empowerment in Agbarha ward since it’s creation.



He pointed out that it has proven the popular adage – ‘what a man can do, a woman can do it even better’ right. “Hon. Anita Okeoghene Okonoko has done well and we did not regret sending her to the council to represent us”.



Present during the ceremony, included Chief Surveyor Terry Noah, Chairman, Elders and Leaders Council, Ughelli North LGA; Chief Bestman Itive, Chairman, Elders and Leaders Council, Agbarha Ward; Mr. Emaye Daniel, PDP Chairman, Agbarha Ward; Mr. Robinson Ighorodje, Vice Chairman, Elders and Leaders Council, Agbarha ward.



Others were Chief Solomon Ahwinahwi, PDP House of representative candidate, represented by Chief Duke Erere; Chief Samuel Mariere, Commissioner for Water Resources Development, represented by Comrade Lucky Ehizienlen, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization; Mr. Akpoyomare Dennis Okonoko, Hon Mathias Ovbioghor, Hon. Peace Emoefe Supervisory for Works.
