The newly elected Executives of Isoko Development Union (IDU), have been tasked to secure the peace in warring Isoko communities.
Isoko Monitoring Group (IMG), in a congratulatory message to the Union, signed by its spokesperson, Dr. Kingsley Oroh stated that securing peace should be the first task of the new executive.
The group applauded the peaceful election and transition urging the new exco to push for meaningful and sustainable reforms that would engender development in Isoko nation.
The IMG also stressed the need for the apex sociocultural body to institute actions geared towards strengthening the unity of the Isoko Nation.
According to the message, “While we congratulate the new executive led by Professor Christopher Akpotu, we must add that they have come in at a time when the peace and unity of our nation are critically bedeviled by unfavourable variables.”
“This makes the duties of the new exco to be daunting and necessary in every material particular. In the face of these challenges, we cannot afford to set aside the need to keep our focus on the development questions begging for answers.”
“As a pressure group, we will continue to render our support to the IDU, even as we promise to continue with our strife for the sustainable development of our nation. Please accept our felicitation.” The group wrote.
