The Isoko Development Union, IDU, has described the death of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Major Gen John Obada (rtd) as sad and devastating.
In a statement by its President General, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, the apex socio-cultural organization of the Isoko nation noted that Obada’s demise was a great loss to the Urhobo nation and Nigeria.
While commiserating with the Obada family of Agbaro kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State and Urhobo nation, the statement said Obada’s contributions to society were laudable.
Urging the family and Urhobo nation to be consoled by the legacies he left behind, the statement said Obada “had an exemplary military career and served the nation meritoriously.
“He was also the 2nd Vice President General of UPU and later the chairman of Board of Trustees of the union.”
