The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol, Mr. Simon Umudi, popularly known as ‘Temple’, has empowered several women, youths, elders and executive of PDP in Ughelli South Ward 7 (Ekakpamre Ward) with cash worth several millions of naira.
The empowerment ceremony which was held at his country home in Ekakpamre Town, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, had in attendance, PDP House of Assembly Candidate, Ughelli South Constituency, Engr. Festus Utuama; Hon. Mrs. Victoria Djowha, Vice Chairman, Ughelli South Local Government Council; Chief John Ewenede, Mr. Ojays Ojigho, SSA to the Governor, representatives of Christian Body In Politics and several others.
The ceremony which witnessed the defection of Hon. Godwin Sheliwhe, former Legislative Aide to DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, Mr. Biakolo Ovie, and others, had the empowered women and youths selected from Ekakpamre, Ekrokpe, Ekrejegbe, Urhiephron, Egbo-Uhurie, Otokutu and Argagba communities that made up the Ughelli South Local Government Area ward 7.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Temple said the initiative was borne out of his desire to assist women and youths who were members of the ward, petty traders and those thrown into hardship by the APC administration at the federal level.
He noted that the APC led administration at the federal level had made life difficult for the common man in the country.
“A bag of rice is over N50,000; a carton of noodles is about N8,000; a dollar is about N1000; pump price of PMS is on the rise, at almost N300 per litre.
“Insecurity is on the rise. I want to urge all of you to vote out APC in 2023 because it’s a party that had been hijacked by cabals who now dictate what happens to us for their selfish interest.
“Vote Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice President respectively; Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and Sir. Monday Onyeme for Governor and Deputy Governor respectively; Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District; House of Representatives Candidate, Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency and Engr. Festus Utuama for Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli South Constituency,” he added.
Some of the beneficiaries included Mr. Apoe Mukoro, Chairman, PDP, Ekakpamre Ward; Mrs. Favour Okpoghitu, Mrs. ESE Kikiri, Mrs. Alice Ughavwa, Mrs. Flash Kevwe, Progress Umukoro, Queen Ogboru, Elizabeth Ewheyavwe, Oghenekevwe Gabriel, Beatrice Abuku, Onoriode Kosovo, Favour Apoe, Juliet Agbroko, Mrs. Roseline Amaja, Avwunuphiogbon Joy, Joseph Onojighode, Okiemute Eruteyan, Ejiro Tarhena, Owarieta Alex, Gabriel Omote, Moses Shaka, 100 female canvassers and others.
