The incoming Governor of Delta State, Chief Immanuel Edijala, People’s Redemption Party PRP, candidate, Says Bishop Ewherido’s appointment is a symbol of service and dedication filled with expectations that, as a Rector of the most popular seminary, named; Magnificus of the Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Ibadan, Nigeria, will bring Unity and Prosperity, while complementing Pope’s efforts at human and material development.
Reacting to the appointment, Edijala in a statement by his Spokesman, Akpovoke Otiti, “commended the Pope for remembering the Ewu Axis.
Edijala, exuded this hope in his congratulatory message to Ewherido, following his appointment by Pope Francis, as successor to Most Rev John Okeoghene Afarahe, who has completed his tenure.
The PRP Gov’ship Candidate, who hails from the Ewu region , applauded his brother for the role as Bishop elect. Noting that Anthony Ovayero Ewherido had played a major role in promoting peace, interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims in Ibadan and the country at large. as the Rector Magnificus of the Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Oyo state.
Just as Edijala joined all members of the Catholic Church across Warri Diocese in praying for a successful and memorable tenure as Bishop Ewherido begins a new phase of his ministry.
The PRP Gov’ship Candidate also felicitated with Most Rev. John Okeoghene Afaraha on his retirement, commending His Eminence for his dedicated service to the Catholic Church, and invaluable contributions to the spiritual life of Christians under his pastoral care.
