Ward Leaders and Elders Council of the ruling party at the Federal level, All Progressives Congress (APC) across Isoko nation weekend, met to brainstorm on how to further move the party forward.
The meeting which was held at the Country home of former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, in Isoko North Local Government Area of the State, had in attendance, bigwigs of the Party from the 24 Wards across Isoko ethnic nationality.
Speaking at the meeting, the Supreme Leader of APC faithfuls in Isoko Nation, Chief Jerry Esige, commended the people for their large turn out, briefing them on some of the moved made by the Leaders on how the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, to give them effective and quality representation in the hallow Chamber of the Senate and the distribution of the empowerment slots released from Federal Government.
He said that, the Delta South Senatorial District Management Committee constituted by Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, are to guide him in the course of discharging his duty effectively.
On his part, the host of the meeting, former Secretary to Delta State Government, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie S. Macaulay, harps on the need for Ward Leaders and Elders to fairly distribute any empowerment slots made available by the party from Federal Government or through Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas to party faithfuls.
He said; “Those who didn’t benefits from the first empowerment slots released by the Federal Government should be consider in subsequent ones thereby giving them sense of belonging in our great Party (APC).
“We as Leaders and Elders should jettisoned the idea of empowering only our family members. Because this can create acrimony among party faithfuls at the grassroot level. Rather, we should fashion out ways to increase our membership strength at the grassroot level ahead of electioneering period.”
Also speaking, the immediate past Delta State Chairman of the Party, Prophet Jones Erue, commended Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay for hosting the gathering and for his immense contribution to the success of the party from the general elections till date, stressing that, he is a great pillar to the party.
