A grassroots political chieftain of the People Democratic Party, in Ozoro Ward III, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr Simeon Anubi popularly known as Degosimeony, on Sunday declared his Councillorship interest to represent Ozoro Ward III at the forthcoming Local government elections scheduled for next year 2021.
Making his declaration in Ozoro at the residence of his Ward Chairman in presence of his Ward executives, his friends and well wishers, and called on his Ward leaders and members of PDP Ozoro Ward III to support his ambition, stressing that he will not disappoint them when he eventually gets the party’s ticket to contest the next Councillorship election.
He said that he is very fortunate to come from Unit II, inoting that, he has worked for the Ward and the party over the years and however urged his Ward constituents to support him promising to deliver within his capacity dividends of democracy to his his people.
In his words; “I consider this occasion a rear privilege for me to stand in the presence of my party leaders today. I am not going to promise you all heaven and earth, but I want to assure you all that I will do my best within my capacity to serve you all.
“If people can change because of power and position, I assure you that I won’t change. You should be rest assure that, I am young and filled with development ideas and I will never fail you all.
“When this opportunity came I consulted widely before I came to declare my interest to contest for the Councillorship position of my Ward and they unanimously agreed that it was high time for me to contest hence I am here to declare my interest for the seat to you all.
“So please I am appealing to you all my Ward executive and constituents, with all humility, to allow me run this time around. I am asking for this because that desire to serve my people is still shut inside my bone marrow.” Mr Anubi added.
He also appealed to party leaders from the Ward to give him the opportunity to contest in the next council election, noting that his zeal to serve the people can no longer be shut down.
