The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives Candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency, Pastor Ukodhiko Jonathan Ajirioghene has said that the Isoko living in the diaspora are key in socio-economic development of the Isoko nation.

 

 

Ukodhiko stated this during series of consultative meetings with the leadership of the Isoko Association of North America (IANA) at Houston, Texas.

 

 

According to him, “the meetings were convened to forge a virile partnership with Isoko professionals abroad on various economic development agenda”

 

 

Noting that, “our Isoko brothers and sisters in the diaspora are professionals and highly skilled individuals who are not only critical human capital assets of our homeland but key factors of our economic development.“

 

 

“My consultative visits were part of my programmes of international engagements for Democratic Renewal that will see to the transformation of the living conditions of our people to the level that will restore dignity and global recognitions.

 

 

“I have outlined key sectors to them that I hope should be modernized to transform Isoko nation into one of the key players in the emerging globalization of economic prosperity, especially through massive investments in agriculture and manufacturing which we need synergies and cooperations on with our professionals here in diaspora.“

 

 

The former Delta Energy Commissioner, Engr Jonathan Ukodhiko assured that, “definitely, there are enormous benefits to be reaped from the economic partnership with diaspora community in the Americas.

 

 

“Yes, I am here to solicit their support in my House of Representatives aspiration so I can open up spaces for the professionals in diaspora to be actively involved and play crucial roles in the economic recovery and development of the Isoko nation, particularly expanding their developmental efforts, economically empowering our teeming youths and women to be self reliant“

 

“One of my programmes of economic development for the Isoko people is to ensure ease of doing business in our Federal Constituency by providing an enabling investment climate that will encourage and attract foreign direct investments in our local economy”

 

In his reaction, Chief Obaro Odu , President General of Isoko Association of North America while expressing his support for the Jonathan Ukodhiko’s candidacy, assured of his willingness to work and make remarkable positive impacts on the lives of the people of Isoko Federal Constituency in Delta State.

 

Also speaking in same vein, a former Delta State House of Assembly hopeful residing at the United States of America, Mr Ben Adhuze reiterated his unwavering support and belief in the representation and leadership of Ukodhiko that would promote economic development of Isoko nation.
