…Promises To Build Secretariat For Burutu PDP
As part of his campaign to emerge as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming local government council election in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Lucky Oweimieotu, a frontline aspirant for the chairmanship of Burutu Local Government Council under the Peoples Democratic Party, has consulted the party’s local government area executives and 11 ward chairmen.
Speaking during the consultation held at Burutu town, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Lucky Oweimieotu,
lamented that the PDP for 24 years has no secretariat but promised to build a befitting secretariat for the party in the area.
Oweimieotu, a former Deputy Leader of Burutu Local Government Council Legislative Arm, noted that the people of Burutu Local Government Area had long yearned for a leader who could uplift their communities and bring about positive change.
“I am in the race to win and bring that change to Burutu LGA where more communities will be connected with roads. And this will be possible by pleading with federal and state governments and interventionist agencies to construct more roads in the area”, he added.
Oweimieotu who said it’s the turn of Ward 8 to be chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, highlighted the lack of basic amenities such as clean water and accessible healthcare facilities that plagued the area.
He stressed the urgency to tackle unemployment, particularly among the youths, and to provide quality education that would empower the future generation.
Earlier, Director General of Hon. Lucky Oweimieotu Campaign Organization, Hon. Timi Angagha, described Oweimieotu as an articulate, respected and responsible personality that has paid his dues for the party in Burutu Local Government Area as such deserved prayers and support of leadership of the party.
According to him, Oweimieotu understood their aspirations, dreams, and the urgent need for progress. With a deep sense of responsibility, he stepped forward to be the catalyst for change and to breathe new life into Burutu.
In response, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Ebike Oromeni, commended Hon. Lucky Oweimieotu for the courage of indicating interest to contest for the chairmanship of Burutu LG Council.
The chairman represented by the vice chairman of the PDP, Hon. Lawson Ogei offered prayers of support for the frontline chairmanship aspirant.
He promised on behalf of the party to provide a level playing ground for all aspirants in the area in order for a popular aspirant to emerge candidate ahead of the forthcoming local government election in the state.
