I Was Invited Not Arrested By NPF – Iteire

The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government of Delta State, Hon Christian Othuke Iteire has clarified the misrepresentation by social media mischief makers that he was arrest by the Nigeria Police Force, NPF in Benin City, Edo State on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

 

Iteire made this clarification contrary to speculations making round by some online media outfits saying that he was honourably invited not arrested by the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday”.

 

Iteire made the clarification in a statement released on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Ozoro, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, that “as a law abiding citizen of Nigeria, I only honoured an invitation at the Zone 5 Office of the Assistant Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force in Benin City sequel to a petition brought to them against the Council”.

 

The Isoko-North Council Boss further stated, “I personally drove down to the force headquarters to give clarification on the thorny issues in the petition of which my explanation was satisfactory to the Police, and I returned to work at Ozoro same day”.

 

Iteire therefore called on members of the public to disregard attempts by disgruntled elements to discredit the untiring efforts of his administration in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

 

The Council chairman who promised that he would not join issues with his detractors, called on the law enforcement agencies to fish out and prosecute the enemies of democracy in the Local Government Area.
