Acclaimed Isoko Geographer, Mr Owighowotu Gabriel Odueme on Saturday, emerged as the Treasurer General of the Isoko Association of North American (IANA) following an election conducted by the body during its 2022 Biennial Convention held at Newark, New Jersey.
Odueme, a perfect gentleman per excellence and man of simplicity, was born on the 15th day of March, 1980 at his hometown in Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
He was educated at the University of Ibadan (UI) where he bagged on record times, his Bachelor of Science (Bsc) and Masters of Science (Msc) degrees in Geography and he is a frontline member of many professional bodies at home and abroad.
Mr Odueme delved into the private sector where in the last 15years he has been giving a good account of himself especially in the challenging areas of accounting and book keeping operations, logistics and human resource management at both in Nigeria and the United States of America.
His public profile has been that of commitment and service to his Isoko-homeland, and Nigeria at large. He was, at various times as an undergraduate student at UI the General Secretary of the National Union of Isoko Students (NUIS) in 2005/2006, and later as the President of NUIS in 2006/2007.
During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, he Served as Financial secretary of Drug Law Enforcement, Community Development Service (CDS) Youth Corpers’ Group in Osun State.
Joining the highly regraded Isoko Association of Houston (IAH) in 2019, the diligent Odueme was secretary of the Isoko diaspora body between 2020 and 2021.
The meticulous Mr Odueme pledges to build more on and sustain the now progressively positive image of the association, ensuring proper documentation and transparency in all financial transactions, preparing timely financial reports, and the handling of all finances of the association with high standards and set a tone of integrity.
