PDP Suspends Party Chairman In Delta

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Ewu Ward 1 in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, yesterday, suspended its chairman, Hon. Precious Ejenake over allegations of financial misappropriation and diversion of party properties.

 

In a suspension notification letter signed by 15 members of the Ward Executive Committee including; Mrs. Oghenemine Ikuku- Vice Chairman, Comrade Daniels Etaga- Secretary, Mamede Adasen- Women Leader, Olorogun Jonathan Idolor- Financial Secretary, Obiuwevwin Augustine- Publicity Secretary, Henry Atevure-Legal Adviser, Felix Iboye-Ex-Officio, Monday Umukoro- Ex-Officio, Mrs. Blessing Efenudu- Member, Igbudu Enimu-Organising Secretary, Ojite Ogilo Ex-Officio, Lucky Diaso- Member, Challenge Ogidiota and Comrade Loren, both accused the party chairman, Hon. Precious Ejenake of embezzlement of funds meant for equipments and furnishing of party secretariat. He was also accused of embezzling funds meant for hosting of Ward meetings donated to the party by well meaning individuals.

The exco members also alleged the conversion of a 5.5KVA generator set donated by one Prince Sunny Ziregbe for the purpose of powering the party secretariat to his personal use.

 

Other alleged offences against the chairman includes; embezzlement of funds accrued to Ward from the local government, collection of illegal fees from members under the pretense of producing identification cards, high handedness, running of party as a sole administrator and engaging in conducts that are likely to cause disaffection among members of the party in the Ward among other nefarious and dubious acts.

 

The suspended chairman was through the notice served on him, directed to handover all party properties in his custody to the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Oghenemine Ikuku pending when he faced disciplinary committee of the party. They equally noted that the suspension of the party chairman is in line with section (14), 57 (3) and (4) and 59c of the party constitution and that he should accept it in good faith.
